Sexual Violence Prevention Educator

About the role

The Sexual Violence Prevention Educator leads university‑wide education initiatives that promote a culture of consent and address attitudes supporting rape culture. Reporting to the Director of the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office, the role works across the UBC Vancouver campus to embed prevention strategies into all academic and administrative units.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate a comprehensive campus‑wide sexual violence prevention education strategy.
• Develop curricula, workshops, and training modules aligned with UBC’s Sexual Misconduct Policy (SC17).
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, student groups and external partners to ensure coordinated implementation of prevention programs.
• Monitor program effectiveness through data collection, analysis and continuous improvement.
• Provide expert guidance and resources to support inclusive learning environments for diverse populations.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering education or training programs related to sexual violence prevention or related public health topics.
• Strong understanding of consent culture, rape‑culture dynamics and university policies on sexual misconduct.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to work with a wide range of campus stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and produce evidence‑based outcomes.
