Sessional Lecturer – Written Communication for Health Care

About the role

The University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking a Sessional Lecturer to teach HSC300H5F – Written Communication for Health Care. This part‑time, term‑based appointment involves delivering in‑person lectures and practical sessions to undergraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver course content, including lectures and hands‑on practicals.
• Develop, administer, and grade assignments, tests, and examinations.
• Calculate final grades, submit them promptly, and manage make‑up exams as needed.
• Hold regular office hours to support student learning.
• Supervise any Sessional Instructional Assistants or Teaching Assistants assigned to the course.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in this course or comparable subjects.
• Strong academic credentials and ability to engage undergraduate learners.

Required skills

• Effective oral and written communication for teaching.
• Ability to design assessments and provide constructive feedback.

• Compensation in line with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement (rates ranging from $9,997.48 to $11,228.90 per term).
