Sessional Lecturer – Observational Drawing (Fall 2026)

About the role

The Department of Arts, Culture and Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking a sessional lecturer to teach an Observational Drawing course in the Fall 2026 semester. This part‑time, fixed‑term position involves delivering studio instruction, guiding student development, and assessing coursework.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly studio sessions covering still life, portraiture, and figure drawing.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that align with contemporary observational drawing techniques.
• Provide constructive feedback and critique on student work.
• Grade assignments and ensure all grading is completed by the end of December 2026.
• Maintain a safe and supportive studio environment.

Required profile

• Advanced rank of Sessional Lecturer II or III preferred, in accordance with collective‑agreement guidelines.
• Demonstrated experience teaching studio art or drawing at the post‑secondary level.
• Strong portfolio of personal artistic work relevant to observational drawing.
• Ability to work independently and meet academic deadlines.
