Sessional Lecturer – Innovation & the Energy Transition

About the role

The University of Toronto is seeking a sessional lecturer to teach the graduate course GLA2080HF Innovation & the Energy Transition. You will develop the syllabus, deliver a weekly 2‑hour lecture, and provide academic support to a cohort of approximately 25 students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and update the course syllabus and lecture materials.
• Deliver one 2‑hour in‑person lecture each week.
• Hold weekly office hours for student advising and academic counseling.
• Prepare and grade assignments, exams, and other assessments.
• Collaborate with department staff on course logistics and policy updates.

Required profile

• PhD in Political Science with a focus on innovation in the energy sector.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the graduate level.
• Strong knowledge of energy policy, low‑carbon technologies, and geopolitical dynamics of the energy transition.
