Sessional Lecturer – French Language Practice (Fall 2026)

About the role

The University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking a sessional lecturer to teach the French Language Practice V course (FREC01H3F) in the Fall 2026 term. The successful candidate will lead a class of approximately 30 students, helping them develop advanced reading, writing, listening and speaking skills through authentic, real‑world activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prepare and deliver weekly course content and lectures.
• Develop, administer and grade assignments, projects and examinations.
• Calculate and submit final grades in accordance with university policies.
• Maintain regular office hours to support student learning.
• Collaborate with department staff on course scheduling and administrative matters.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in French or a closely related field.
• Excellent command of French (native or near‑native level) and strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience teaching French language courses at the university level.
• Strong academic record and evidence of professional promise.
