Sessional Lecturer – Financial Risk Management (ECO460H5F)

About the role

The Department of Economics at the University of Toronto Mississauga is seeking a qualified Sessional Lecturer to teach ECO460H5F, a course on financial risk management, for the 2025 Fall term. The appointment runs from September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026, with possible extension into January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and deliver lecture content for a 1‑section, 60‑student course.
• Supervise teaching assistants and coordinate 50 hours of TA support.
• Develop, administer, and grade assignments, tests, make‑up exams, and final examinations.
• Calculate and submit final grades to university officials.
• Hold regular office hours and maintain reasonable availability for student inquiries.

Required profile

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level.
• Mastery of financial risk topics, including market, credit, and operational risk.
• Previous experience teaching this or a closely related economics/finance course.
• Proven ability to deliver online instruction in a remote setting.
• Preferred: PhD in Economics and professional experience in the finance industry.
