Sessional Lecturer – Digital Publishing

About the role

The Department of Arts, Culture and Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough is seeking a sessional lecturer to teach Digital Publishing (VPSC80H3F) in the Fall 2026 term. The course introduces students to designing and publishing artworks using digital tools, focusing on short‑run printed catalogues, e‑books and blogs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver weekly lectures and workshops covering editorial workflow, image preparation and digital publishing software.
• Create lesson plans, assignments and assessment criteria aligned with course objectives.
• Guide students in producing printed catalogues, e‑books and blog projects, providing feedback on design and technical execution.
• Grade student work and complete all course grading by December 31 2026.
• Maintain records of student progress and communicate outcomes to the department.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience teaching or supervising digital publishing, media arts or related subjects at the post‑secondary level.
• Strong portfolio of recent artistic or digital publishing work.
• Ability to work independently and meet academic deadlines.
• Preference given to candidates holding Sessional Lecturer II or III rank.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital publishing software and tools for assembling images, video, audio, graphics and text.
