Sessional Instructor – Understanding Mental Health in Children & Adolescents

About the role

The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary seeks a sessional instructor to teach EDPS 654 – Understanding Mental Health in Children and Adolescents during the Fall 2026 term. The appointment runs from August 24 to December 18, 2026 and involves delivering the course both online and on‑campus.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, discussions, and assessments for the graduate‑level course.
• Develop and adapt course materials for online and blended delivery.
• Assess student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain office hours and support students in both virtual and face‑to‑face settings.
• Collaborate with faculty and program staff to ensure alignment with curriculum goals.

Required profile

• Completed doctorate (PhD or EdD) in psychology or a closely related field.
• Registration as a psychologist is preferred.
• Demonstrated successful teaching experience at university, college, or professional settings.
• Experience designing and delivering online or blended courses.
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative academic culture.
