About the role
The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary seeks a sessional instructor to teach the graduate course EDPS 693.28 Brain/Behaviour Relationships: Part I during the Fall 2026 term. The course is delivered entirely online and explores how brain processes, memory, executive function, and mental health intersect with learning across the lifespan.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver weekly online lectures and facilitate discussions for graduate students.
- Design and update course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with learning outcomes.
- Provide timely feedback and support to students, including those with mental‑health or neurodevelopmental challenges.
- Collaborate with faculty and program staff to ensure consistency with the Educational Psychology curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and participation.
Required profile
- Completed doctorate (PhD or EdD) in psychology or a closely related field.
- Registration as a psychologist (preferred).
- Demonstrated success in teaching at the university, college, or professional level.
- Experience delivering courses in an online or blended format.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for online course delivery.
- Curriculum development and assessment design for graduate‑level education.
- Strong knowledge of educational psychology concepts and applications.
