Service Technician – Vacuum Pump Maintenance

About the role

Busch Vacuum Technics is seeking a Service Technician to join its Delta service team in Canada. The role combines workshop repairs with on‑site field service for vacuum pump systems, supporting a range of industrial customers across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on vacuum pumps both in the workshop and at customer sites (approximately 80% of time).
• Assess incoming equipment, determine required parts, estimate labour, and prepare work orders for supervisor approval.
• Disassemble, clean, re‑assemble, and adjust pumps to specified tolerances, then conduct functional tests and document results.
• Respond to service calls, diagnose faults, propose solutions, and obtain customer sign‑off on completed work.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and adhere to ISO quality standards and PPE requirements.
• Provide technical support to fellow technicians and handle occasional urgent external service calls.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in pump repair or rotating equipment maintenance.
• Vocational diploma (DVS) or equivalent industrial mechanical/electromechanical training.
• Red Seal Millwright certification preferred.
• Experience working with tight tolerances (1 thou) and occasional customer‑site service.

Required skills

• Vacuum pump refurbishment and precision mechanical diagnosis.
• Use of sandblasting systems, industrial washing machines, and general machine tools.
• Compliance with ISO quality standards and safety procedures.
• Ability to read technical drawings and perform adjustments within specified tolerances.
