Service Technician – Journeyperson

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Service Technician – Journeyperson to join our Service and Rentals department. You will be responsible for receiving, documenting, repairing, and maintaining both our rental fleet and customer‑owned automated welding equipment, ensuring high quality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, test, troubleshoot, estimate and repair rental and customer equipment.
• Clean, refurbish, and preserve equipment using welding, grinding, cutting, painting, buffing and rust removal.
• Package equipment for transport or outdoor storage and maintain strict quality‑assurance standards.
• Perform inspections, identify parts from drawings, spreadsheets, SharePoint and manuals, and complete service orders, estimates and NCRs.
• Organise warehouse tools, parts inventory and keep the work area safe and tidy.
• Serve as the professional point of contact for customers, managers and team members, and train new staff.

Required profile

• Journeyperson certificate in millwright, electrical or an equivalent trade.
• Strong general electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Dependable team player with a positive attitude and a focus on safety.
• Physically able to lift 50 lb unassisted and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
