Senior Tax Staff – Mobility & Expatriate Tax (Montreal)

About the role

EY is seeking a Senior Tax Staff to join its People Advisory Services – Mobility practice in Montreal. You will support multinational employers and internationally mobile employees with Canadian and US tax compliance and advisory services, helping clients navigate complex cross‑border tax issues.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex Canadian and US personal income tax returns for inbound and outbound assignees.
• Identify appropriate filing positions, assess risk and technical implications.
• Advise clients on tax implications of cross‑border employment, compensation and mobility arrangements.
• Research technical tax matters and apply conclusions to compliance and advisory deliverables.
• Support mobility advisory engagements, including planning and global coordination.
• Review work of junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Utilize EY technology and standardized tools to improve efficiency and quality.
• Contribute to national learning initiatives through technical content development or training delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience in Canadian and/or US personal taxation, preferably with expatriate or mobility exposure.
• Strong interest in global mobility and cross‑border personal taxation.
• Ability to analyze complex tax issues and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
