Senior Tax Compliance Advisor

About the role

The Senior Tax Compliance Advisor will join the CRS/FATCA/QI/QDD Tax Expertise Centre at National Bank. You will support the U.S. Tax Operations team, ensure compliance with qualified intermediary (QI) and qualified derivatives dealer (QDD) regulations, and help the business mitigate non‑compliance risks.

Key responsibilities

• Support, advise and participate in U.S. Tax Operations projects, internal initiatives and process reviews related to QI and QDD regulations.
• Assist the Senior Manager in governance activities and risk management for the QI/QDD program.
• Reduce non‑compliance risk by advising business units on projects, process reviews and handling complex daily cases.
• Develop, update and improve work tools, procedures and training materials.
• Contribute to working groups, guide discussions and participate in program‑related initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 4 years.
• Experience in compliance, audit or legal functions within the securities industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial products, markets and QI/QDD regulations.
• Excellent analytical abilities, process‑oriented thinking and solution‑focused mindset.
• High degree of autonomy, strong organisational skills and effective teamwork.
