Senior Tax Accountant – Fund Tax Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to lead partnership tax compliance for private market funds in Canada. You will manage end‑to‑end tax deliverables, ensure accurate filings, and collaborate with accounting, audit, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review U.S. partnership income tax returns (Form 1065) and investor Schedule K‑1s for investment funds and management entities.
• Manage complex partnership tax activities, including allocations, special allocations, waterfall and carried interest calculations, book‑to‑tax adjustments, and capital account maintenance.
• Own the full compliance timeline for assigned funds, coordinating filing calendars, extensions, and timely submissions.
• Research partnership tax matters, document technical positions, and resolve discrepancies before final delivery.
• Collaborate with fund accounting teams, external auditors, onboarding groups, and internal stakeholders to improve processes.
• Support workflow enhancements and mentor junior staff through training and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of partnership tax experience in public accounting, fund administration, or a similar environment.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and judgment skills.
