Senior Specialist, Operational Technology

About the role

Saputo is looking for an OT Infrastructure Specialist to assess, design, implement, maintain and continuously improve OT network infrastructure across its Canadian plants. Reporting to the OT Director, the role covers the reliability, security, standardization and lifecycle management of OT network environments and their interfaces, working with OT, IT, engineering, automation, maintenance, vendors and site teams. Travel across Canada is required.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, design, implement and maintain OT network infrastructure, including industrial Ethernet, switches, firewalls, segmentation, secure remote access and interfaces.
• Develop and maintain OT network architecture, standards, guidelines and deployment practices aligned with the Saputo OT blueprint, industry best practices, CPWE principles and regulations.
• Manage OT network equipment through its lifecycle, from specification and configuration to obsolescence planning and retirement.
• Identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks in OT environments, supporting IEC 62443 and corporate cybersecurity requirements.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of OT network assets and keep diagrams, change records, procedures and knowledge materials up to date.
• Lead or support OT infrastructure projects, including risk assessment, design reviews, vendor coordination, commissioning and stakeholder documentation.
• Coordinate with Corporate IT, IT Security and network teams on secure OT-IT integration, including iDMZ, remote access and managed file transfer.
• Manage suppliers and service providers, and support incident response, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Contribute to BC/DR plans for OT infrastructure and provide technical guidance to site capital projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, information technology, network infrastructure, automation or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial network infrastructure, OT environments, automation systems or critical infrastructure support.
• Field experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Bilingual in English and French, spoken and written; valid driver's license and access to a vehicle; willingness to travel across Canada.

Required skills

• Industrial Ethernet, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, segmentation, NAT, VPNs and secure remote access.
• OT cybersecurity principles, IEC 62443, CPWE, access control, vulnerability management and change control.
• Cisco industrial networking or equivalent platforms; CCNA, CCNP or OT networking certification is an asset.
• Virtualization and server infrastructure (VMware, Azure Local, Hyper-V, Windows Server, Acronis, Commvault).
• HMI/SCADA, PLCs, historians, OPC connectivity and industrial communication protocols.
• Microsoft Office; Visio and AutoCAD are an asset.
