About the role
Mastercard is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join its AWS Platform Engineering team. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining a secure, scalable, and highly available multi‑account AWS platform that supports the company’s global payments ecosystem.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a scalable multi‑account AWS platform using services such as AWS Organizations, VPC, IAM, EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Glue, EMR, and MSK.
- Develop infrastructure as code with AWS CDK and CloudFormation.
- Manage secure connectivity using AWS PrivateLink, Transit Gateway, and Direct Connect.
- Implement governance and guardrails with AWS Control Tower, Service Control Policies (SCPs), and IAM.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise performance, cost, and reliability.
- Drive automation, incident response, and continuous improvement of the platform lifecycle.
- Lead architecture discussions, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineering team members.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an AWS cloud engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong software engineering background with a DevOps mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor engineers.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with a focus on reliability and scalability.
