Senior Project Engineering Manager

About the role

Brunel is seeking a Senior Project Engineering Manager to lead the detailed engineering and execution phases of a major mining and metallurgical process facilities project. Reporting to the Project Director and functionally to the Director of Engineering Management, you will oversee the full project life‑cycle from early scoping through detailed design, procurement, erection and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Review and develop engineering work packages (EWPs) with the technology provider, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
• Own scope, cost, schedule, safety and quality for the technology package engineering.
• Monitor technical performance, track progress of engineering deliverables, and report status.
• Interface with site leadership, health & safety teams and internal groups to guarantee safe, environmentally responsible execution.
• Participate in design reviews and execution planning to create logical, achievable schedules.
• Lead evaluation, management and approval of changes proposed by the technology provider, minimizing cost and schedule impacts.
• Implement comprehensive QA/QC processes to assure deliverable quality.
• Attend and contribute to all project engineering meetings, including weekly and monthly progress reviews.
• Reforecast contractor staffing needs based on actual progress and remaining work.
• Contribute to the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and coordinate with procurement, construction and commissioning teams.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior engineering project management within mining or metallurgical process facilities.
• Proven ability to manage scope, cost, schedule, safety and quality across complex engineering projects.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to work closely with site teams, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Experience conducting design reviews, change management and QA/QC oversight.
• Ability to develop realistic engineering schedules and contribute to project execution planning.
