Senior Project Coordinator

About the role

As a Senior Project Coordinator at Black & McDonald, you will support utility construction projects from planning through execution, ensuring safety, schedule, budget and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Support Project Managers to meet objectives, policies and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and submit accurate client reports and invoices on time.
• Promote and enforce health, safety and environmental policies.
• Assist with construction schedules, milestones and project tracking.
• Perform quantity take‑offs from drawings and track as‑built quantities.
• Help prepare contracts, manage revisions, changes and negotiations.
• Analyze budgets, forecast costs and manage change orders.
• Coordinate trades and subcontractors to ensure efficient execution.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of project coordination experience in construction, with 2‑4 years on utilities projects preferred.
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence.
• Experience applying OTM (Ontario Traffic Manual) standards and contract management principles.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
• Experience with JD Edwards or Oracle‑based ERP systems.
• Knowledge of OTM standards and construction scheduling.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
• Experience with quantity take‑offs and project cost tracking.
