Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Automotive

About the role

Magna is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join its automotive engineering team. You will work on a variety of projects that drive productivity, quality, and cost‑effectiveness across our body, chassis, and engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safety standards for equipment and work areas in accordance with company policies.
• Prepare reports, charts, and documentation for engineering changes, records, and projects.
• Lead 8‑D problem‑solving activities and develop corrective‑action procedures.
• Compile and update PFMEAs, coordinate corrective actions with the plant, and represent the company at customer sites.
• Support productivity and system improvement initiatives and assist with ongoing operational issues.
• Assist managers and senior engineers throughout all program stages, from concept to launch and service parts.
• Create drawings, service‑part updates, material requisitions, specifications, and KECs as required.
• Develop process and tool designs that meet Magna and Cosma standards for optimal productivity.
• Generate quotations for part pricing, tooling, and capital costs.
• Manage new tooling programs to control cost, timing, and quality through prototype, die construction, proof‑out, and launch phases.

Required profile

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with customers and vendors.
• Proven ability to develop manufacturing feasibility studies and recommend process or part changes.
• Experience managing engineering change, quality improvement, and cost‑reduction programs.
