Senior Manager, Property Accounting

About the role

The Property Accounting team at Choice Properties is a key service group delivering timely and accurate financial results for month‑end and operational decisions. Reporting to the Director of Property Accounting, you will support process improvements, ensure alignment across the group, and mentor a high‑performing team as a value‑added partner to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Property Accounting Managers and Financial Analysts, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Provide expert guidance on financial information, accounting processes, and operational matters to business leaders.
• Ensure timely, accurate accounting and processing of all financial activities within the portfolio.
• Maintain compliance with tenant lease agreements, internal policies, and IFRS requirements.
• Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and budget results, delivering variance analysis and management reporting.
• Oversee preparation and review of monthly working papers, year‑end financial statements, and interim billings.
• Manage CAM and joint‑venture audit processes and coordinate with external auditors.
• Partner with Property Operations, Leasing, and cross‑functional teams to deliver responsive support.

Required profile

• Minimum eight years of progressive Property Accounting experience, preferably in commercial real estate, with at least three years in a senior supervisory role.
• Post‑secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong analytical abilities, solid understanding of accounting and internal controls, and excellent communication skills.
• Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
