Senior Manager, BES, Portfolio Management

About the role

The Senior Manager, BES, Portfolio Management is a key member of the Commercial Credit team, reporting to the Director, BES, Portfolio Management. You will mentor team members and ensure efficient, prudent underwriting of complex commercial mortgage loans across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the BES portfolio, ensuring credit risk is assessed within the Bank’s risk appetite.
• Review, approve or recommend commercial credit facilities, including mortgage renewals and annual reviews.
• Manage loan monitoring, annual reviews, renewals, and amendments in line with approved guidelines.
• Develop and maintain production and service metrics to achieve best‑in‑class turnaround times.
• Support superior customer experience by addressing issues promptly and guiding the team to complete underwriting assignments efficiently.
• Prepare regular reporting for senior management, such as maturity and KPI dashboards.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in business or finance; MBA or CFA preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of commercial real estate lending experience, including at least 2 years in a management role.
• Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of Canadian commercial lending, macro‑economic factors and AML/ATF regulations.
• Proven ability to thrive in a high‑volume, fast‑changing environment.
