Senior Manager, Architectural Design – Calgary

About the role

You will lead Anthem’s team of architectural technologists, driving product innovation, compliance and process excellence. Partnering with Construction, Estimating, Purchasing, Sales and Interior Design, you will ensure residential designs are buildable, code‑compliant and delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the architectural design team in plan development, drafting and review, modelling technical rigour.
• Prepare and review home plans, elevations and specifications using CAD/BIM software, guaranteeing accuracy and buildability.
• Approve construction drawings and detail packages, coordinating with structural, mechanical and civil engineering inputs.
• Oversee quality control of drawing sets, specification documentation and plan libraries across all product lines.
• Standardise design standards, spec templates and code‑compliance checklists, and drive process and system improvement initiatives.
• Ensure submissions meet building code, zoning and municipal permitting requirements.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology or a related field.
• 8‑10 years of residential drafting and design experience, including 2‑3 years of leadership.
• Strong organisational skills and proven experience with project cost controls.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with CAD/BIM software for plan development.
