Senior HR Generalist & Entity Liaison

About the role

Seabird Island is seeking a Senior HR Generalist & Entity Liaison to provide operational HR support across all entities and ensure culturally grounded employee services. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role acts as the primary HR lead for entity‑specific needs, aligning practices with organizational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with leaders, entities, and employees, offering guidance on HR and employment‑related issues.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employment policy, contracts, compliance, and entity inquiries.
• Lead or support strategic HR initiatives, change management projects, and workforce planning.
• Provide expert advice on employment legislation (ESA/CLC), BC Human Rights, accommodations, and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
• Support OHS initiatives, safety audits, incident reporting, and wellness programs for each entity.
• Ensure consistent application of HR practices across departments and entities, drafting complex documents and messaging for management.

Required profile

• Significant experience in HR, preferably in a senior or lead capacity.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex employment relations and provide strategic HR advice.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, BC Human Rights, and OHS standards.
• Excellent communication skills for advising management and conducting hard conversations.
