Senior Financial Planner

About the role

Common Wealth, a group retirement provider serving over 1,800 employers across Canada, is hiring a Senior Financial Planner. The role is not product-focused but aims to reinvent how Canadians access financial advice, blending direct member engagement with scalable, digital-first planning. It is a hands-on, early-hire position on a fast-growing team.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Head of Finance and Strategy and the Financial Planning team to scale the financial planning offering and its differentiated member service model.
• Build and review comprehensive financial plans for plan members, with a focus on retirement readiness and retirement income planning, using digital tools to model scenarios and give clear recommendations.
• Support members across a range of planning needs in a digital-first environment while keeping a high-touch, human experience.
• Help develop and deliver financial education, including webinars, articles and other digital content, and collaborate with Marketing, Product and Sales so it matches member needs and business priorities.

Required profile

• Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
• Experience providing holistic financial planning to individuals and enjoying working directly with clients.
• Strong communicator and educator, able to present to groups virtually and write articles or guides.
• Energetic about fintech change, with a growth mindset and interest in how AI and emerging tools can improve the planning experience.

Required skills

• Digital fluency and comfort with financial planning software; experience with Conquest is a strong asset.
• Nice to have: group retirement or benefits experience, advice-only planning experience, and French fluency.

• Salary of $80,000 - $100,000.
