Senior Director, Procurement and Strategic Sourcing

About the role

This senior leadership position is based in Canada and will drive the evolution of a modern, AI‑enabled procurement function within a fast‑growing, technology‑focused organization. You will shape enterprise sourcing strategies, optimize vendor relationships, and deliver measurable cost‑saving and operational‑excellence outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an AI‑first procurement strategy that emphasizes automation, scalability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing procurement team while fostering AI fluency and accountability.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Security, and Business Operations to align procurement initiatives with business priorities, compliance, and risk‑management goals.
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, providing strategic recommendations on vendor strategy, sourcing decisions, and procurement optimization.
• Own strategic sourcing activities, including supplier selection, RFP processes, negotiations, contract management, and vendor performance evaluation.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle, improving visibility, compliance, accuracy, and efficiency through technology and automation.
• Establish vendor performance frameworks with KPIs, SLAs, renewal planning, and ongoing relationship management.
• Identify and deliver cost‑saving opportunities across software, services, and operational spend while maintaining quality and reducing risk.
• Design and implement AI‑powered workflows for contract reviews, spend analysis, vendor assessments, and forecasting.
• Evaluate emerging AI tools to reduce manual effort, improve decision‑making, and increase team productivity.
• Build dashboards and reporting capabilities to monitor procurement performance and savings initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading procurement or strategic sourcing functions in a technology‑driven environment.
• Strong track record of delivering cost‑savings, operational excellence, and risk mitigation.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with cross‑functional executive stakeholders and influence strategic decisions.
• Experience managing and developing high‑performing teams, with a focus on AI adoption and digital transformation.
