Senior Data Engineer - Retail Engineering (Snowflake)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of complex data systems for our Retail Engineering team. You will work on global store reporting and enterprise‑wide insights, building scalable pipelines that feed trusted data to analytics and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of end‑to‑end data pipelines across multiple source systems using Azure Data Factory and Snowflake.
• Design and maintain the Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to ensure high‑quality, curated data sets.
• Establish data quality standards, governance practices, and observability metrics.
• Conduct code reviews focused on performance, reliability, and best‑practice data engineering.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level data engineers and promote engineering standards across the domain.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and business teams to define data strategy and roadmap.
• Resolve critical data quality issues and pipeline failures promptly.

Required profile

• Several years of experience designing and operating large‑scale data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, transformation logic, and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to set technical direction and enforce data governance.
• Excellent communication skills to partner with cross‑functional stakeholders.
