Senior Controller, Finance

About the role

Odyssey Trust Company is seeking a Senior Controller to lead its finance function in Calgary. The role reports to the VP Finance and works closely with the executive team to ensure accurate accounting, compliance and strategic financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate accounting workflows through technology.
• Oversee all accounting and auditing activities, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, revenue recognition and technical accounting judgments.
• Manage internal controls, coordinate the annual external audit and ensure regulatory filings with OSFI and other provincial/state regulators.
• Review month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end financial statements and present findings to the VP Finance during monthly financial review meetings.
• Direct the annual budgeting process, business‑unit reporting, variance analysis, KPI dashboards and preparation of board and management reporting materials.
• Supervise and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in managing a finance team.
