Senior Consultant – Customs & Trade Compliance

About the role

Expeditors is seeking a Senior Consultant to lead customs and trade compliance initiatives across its Canadian and international operations. You will work closely with clients, internal teams, and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to ensure accurate classification, valuation, and regulatory compliance of imported goods.

Key responsibilities

• Classify imported products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HS) and interpret General Rules of Interpretation.
• Research and apply Customs rulings, OGA, ADD/CVD, and quota/permit requirements.
• Prepare, submit, and manage binding classification ruling requests to the CBSA.
• Interpret customs valuation rules and relevant trade agreements.
• Navigate Canadian export regulations and the CBSA CARM Client Portal.
• Communicate with domestic and international client offices, supporting sales meetings and delivering presentations.
• Mentor junior team members and complete 52 hours of annual training.

Required profile

• CCS or CTCS certification preferred.
• Canadian Customs Broker License or willingness to obtain one.
• Minimum five years of experience in customs classification, valuation, or trade compliance.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
