Senior Cloud Engineer - Hybrid

About the role

Manulife is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join its cloud engineering team in Toronto, working in a hybrid arrangement. The role combines deep technical expertise with business insight to support the company's cloud transformation, designing, building, automating and optimizing cloud platforms while partnering with engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement cloud-based applications and infrastructure solutions.
• Build and maintain cloud environments aligned with security and operational standards.
• Automate and orchestrate cloud platforms using DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Develop and maintain APIs, web services and integration solutions across enterprise platforms.
• Support application deployment, troubleshooting, testing and continuous integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.
• Research emerging technologies and lead cloud engineering best practices, mentoring team members.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes (AKS) and Terraform.
• Solid knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and BOSH CLI.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Agile software development.
• Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs, web services and cloud-native applications.
• Familiarity with API gateways, messaging, event streaming, distributed tracing, SQL and document databases.
• Nice to have: Bachelor's degree in a computing field, 8+ years of IT experience, public/private/hybrid cloud experience, AKS or HashiCorp certifications, and enterprise-scale PaaS delivery experience.

What we offer

• Salary range of $113,000 to $163,000 CAD, with possible incentive compensation.
