Senior Building Design Specialist

About the role

Fluor is seeking a Senior Building Design Specialist to lead architectural and structural design activities on complex projects. The role combines technical expertise with administrative oversight to ensure accurate, cost‑effective solutions throughout all project phases.

Key responsibilities

• Apply cost‑competitive execution techniques to develop total project solutions for discipline engineering work.
• Develop and review design specifications and criteria.
• Participate in equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
• Perform and verify calculations, specify equipment, and resolve moderate to complex engineering problems.
• Review vendor documentation for compliance and drive discrepancy resolution.
• Provide independent recommendations on technical solutions aligned with project objectives.
• Lead architectural area or assigned projects, delivering advanced architectural techniques.

Required profile

• Proven experience in structural engineering of large steel and concrete structures.
• Strong understanding of heavy foundations, seismic engineering, and dynamic analysis.
• Ability to conduct hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel.
• Experience with wind and seismic loading analysis and structural modeling.
• Demonstrated capability to work on resource project development and construction.
