Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a respected public‑sector organization serving the Greater Toronto Area. The role combines detailed revenue accounting work with broader financial reporting responsibilities, supporting accurate statements and strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Perform revenue reconciliations, investigate complex variances, and ensure accuracy of high‑volume transactions.
• Prepare month‑end journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations, financial statements and supporting analyses.
• Participate in month‑end and year‑end close activities and support internal and external audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT and external partners to resolve ERP interface issues, support system enhancements and validate new processes.
• Analyze general‑ledger accounts, prepare management reporting and identify opportunities to strengthen financial controls.
• Provide backup for revenue accounting activities and contribute to special projects, testing initiatives and continuous process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience at an intermediate or senior level.
• CPA designation is required.
• Proven experience with financial reporting, month‑end close and full‑cycle accounting.
• Strong revenue reconciliation, account analysis and problem‑solving abilities in a complex environment.

• SAP S/4HANA (ERP system)
