Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will own the full‑cycle accounting for real‑estate assets and deliver timely, accurate financial reports. This hands‑on professional will support internal decision‑making through detailed analysis of results and management of the monthly close process. The role can be performed remotely with occasional office visits.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete monthly close cycle, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, HST returns and general ledger maintenance.
• Account for asset acquisitions and dispositions, handling proration adjustments, reconciliations and closing‑statement accounting.
• Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring proper expense coding and timely collections.
• Prepare schedules and documentation to support annual audits.
• Track capital project costs, maintain asset continuity schedules and process depreciation and accruals.
• Identify and implement process improvements to accelerate month‑end reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 + years of full‑cycle accounting experience in real‑estate or commercial property.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related field.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities; CPA not required.
