Senior Accountant

About the role

Romspen, a leading Canadian non‑bank mortgage lender, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Finance Reporting team. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and industrial real‑estate properties.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of investor records for assigned properties.
• Process wire payments, quarterly investor distributions, and capital return calculations using Yardi Bill Pay, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Prepare comprehensive Asset Management Reports and review third‑party property manager reporting packages.
• Provide backup support to other finance team members and handle miscellaneous reporting requests such as unit summaries and T5013 queries.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of progressive accounting experience.
• Post‑secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• Demonstrated experience in real‑estate accounting and proficiency with Yardi property management software.
• Advanced Excel skills, including building and maintaining financial models.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational ability, and analytical problem‑solving.
