Senior Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a US‑listed global cleantech business to hire a Senior Accountant. The role is remote and focuses on multi‑site intercompany reconciliations, fixed‑asset management, and driving month‑end and quarter‑end close under tight timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multi‑site, multi‑currency intercompany reconciliations, investigate variances and ensure month‑end accuracy.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, review capital expenditures and apply UK GAAP/IFRS treatment.
• Execute month‑end close activities including journals, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet integrity across multiple entities.
• Support financial‑statement preparation and respond to external audit requests.
• Develop equity‑accounting capabilities such as stock‑based compensation entries and cross‑functional tracking.
• Ensure records comply with US GAAP, SOX and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen controls and streamline reconciliations.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of general‑ledger accounting experience, preferably with corporate and Big‑10 audit exposure.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, UK GAAP/IFRS and core accounting principles.
• Proven month‑end close and intercompany reconciliation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CA designation is a plus.
• High attention to detail, ownership, and ability to work independently while collaborating.
• Comfortable operating in a SOX‑controlled public‑company environment.

• Advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, reconciliation techniques).
