Senior Accountant – IFRS & Consolidation Expertise

About the role

The Bank’s Chief Accountant Department seeks a Senior Accountant to provide expert IFRS and consolidation guidance on complex accounting matters. This 12‑month contract (potential extension) is hybrid, requiring on‑site presence four days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as subject‑matter expert on IFRS, financial instruments and consolidation issues.
• Review new product and business proposals, conduct IFRS 9 business‑model and consolidation assessments, and advise on accounting implications.
• Perform technical accounting research, benchmarking, and prepare memos and presentation materials.
• Assist in the preparation of external consolidated shareholder reports, including MD&A, financial statements, notes and supplemental information, ensuring proper disclosures.
• Stay current with IFRS pronouncements, deliver periodic technical updates and draft accounting‑policy updates.
• Provide timely, practical IFRS advisory services to business units, translating complex topics into actionable guidance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners (Finance, Product Control, Risk, Investor Relations) and external parties (auditors, advisors, peer banks).
• Perform ad‑hoc tasks to support the team as needed.

Required profile

• Extensive experience applying IFRS, especially IFRS 9, to complex accounting issues.
• Proven ability to research, interpret and communicate accounting standards.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on financial instruments and consolidation.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management capabilities across finance and risk functions.
