Senior Accountant – General Ledger

About the role

Pilot.com is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to join its growing accounting team in San Francisco. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will own key parts of the monthly close, financial reporting, audit coordination, equity accounting and process automation, while preparing to step into an Accounting Manager role.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations and variance analyses for fixed assets, prepaid, leases, accruals and intercompany balances.
• Manage equity roll‑forward and stock‑based compensation accounting (ASC 718) in partnership with Legal, HR and Carta.
• Develop supporting schedules and footnotes for audited financial statements and act as the primary liaison for external auditors.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve close efficiency.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Revenue, Payroll, AP/AR, FP&A and IT, and mentor junior staff as the team expands.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred or in progress.
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally at a high‑growth SaaS company.
• 2–4 years of Big Four experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including equity accounting, ASC 350‑40 and ASC 842.
