Senior Accountant – Accounting Shared Services

About the role

Volkswagen Group Canada’s Accounting Shared Services Centre is seeking a Senior Accountant to ensure the integrity and timely preparation of financial statements for multiple VW group entities, including Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and electric‑vehicle initiatives. The role combines financial reporting, internal‑control oversight, and treasury coordination within a dynamic automotive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and validate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures for assigned entities.
• Manage the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate GL entries and proper IFRS treatment.
• Maintain General Ledger configurations, mapping tables and data integrity.
• Support internal controls by certifying documentation and processing of all GL activities.
• Collaborate with Controlling groups, Group Accounting and business partners to align reporting objectives and streamline processes.
• Coordinate and respond to internal and external audit requirements.
• Act as liaison with the Regional Treasury Centre, implementing treasury initiatives that affect financial reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience preparing financial statements and reports.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month‑end close and GL activities.
• Experience with internal‑control certification and audit coordination.
• Effective communication and collaboration with cross‑functional finance teams.
