Senior Account Manager – Commercial Mortgage Portfolio

About the role

EQ Bank is looking for a bilingual Senior Account Manager to manage complex commercial mortgage facilities and drive portfolio performance. You will work closely with internal teams and senior management to deliver superior customer service while maintaining credit risk within approved guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage renewals, refinances, assumptions, annual reviews and ad‑hoc requests for commercial mortgage facilities, often with limited information.
• Control credit risk by assessing documentation against underwriting policies and recommending actions within delegated authority limits.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, sharing industry knowledge and best practices.
• Coordinate with internal contacts (management, originations, funders, coordinators) to meet transaction deadlines.
• Prepare periodic reports for senior management on portfolio performance and other required metrics.
• Contribute to special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in business, finance or a related field.
• Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
• 7‑10 years of commercial mortgage underwriting experience, including construction and syndicated lending.
• Working knowledge of AML/ATF regulations and corporate/legal documentation for commercial real estate across Canada.
• Strong analytical, organizational and negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Financial statement analysis.
• Commercial mortgage underwriting expertise.
