Security Analyst

About the role

Insight Global is looking for a Security Analyst to join a large public central service provider in British Columbia. Reporting to the Manager of Architecture and Security, you will monitor and protect the organization’s information systems and networks against threats.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to identify potential incidents.
• Participate in incident response, including forensic analysis, evidence gathering, and reporting.
• Investigate security breaches, determine cause and scope, and implement containment and remediation actions.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols in collaboration with senior security staff.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to uncover system weaknesses.
• Work closely with network, systems, and architecture teams to ensure secure infrastructure changes.
• Communicate technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders clearly.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of security processes, emergency measures, and related policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in security analysis.
• Strong knowledge of IT risk assurance theories, methods, and practices.
• Understanding of standard security frameworks such as NIST and ITSG‑33.
• Degree or diploma in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM platforms and DLP solutions.
• Proficiency in tools such as Splunk (preferred), Elasticsearch, and RSA.
• Familiarity with penetration testing tools and threat assessment programs.
