Search Consultant - Remote

About the role

Berkner Group is seeking a remote Search Consultant to lead candidate engagement and assessment for leadership and technical positions in climate, deep‑tech, and other innovation‑driven sectors. You will work closely with founders, investors, and senior stakeholders to match top talent with critical growth roles.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct candidate interviews to evaluate experience, technical background, motivations, and overall fit.
• Assess candidates against role requirements and provide clear recommendations.
• Collaborate with clients to understand role specifications and calibrate candidate profiles.
• Guide and oversee the research team in sourcing high‑quality candidates.
• Maintain professional, thoughtful communication with candidates throughout the process.
• Write concise, well‑structured candidate summaries for internal and client use.

Required profile

• 2–15+ years of recruiting experience (flexibility for strong adjacent experience or advanced degrees).
• Technical background (BS or higher in science or engineering; MS, MBA, or PhD a plus).
• At least 2 years of client‑facing experience with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to quickly understand emerging, innovative technologies.
• Interest or experience in sectors such as green steel, carbon capture, renewable energy, and related fields.
• Experience recruiting for startup positions, preferably in an agency or retained search environment.
