Satellite & Payload System Test Authority (Contract)

About the role

As a member of the System Engineering Department, the Satellite and Payload System Test Authority will define test plans, methods and requirements for digital telecommunication satellite payloads. The role supports ground‑test equipment definition, implementation and testing, and contributes to on‑orbit commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive test plans and verification & validation matrices for satellite and payload programs.
• Lead the creation of test methods, procedures and requirements, and supervise their execution across cross‑disciplinary teams.
• Coordinate satellite and payload testing activities, including EGSE setup, test supervision, data analysis and trending.
• Maintain verification & validation matrices throughout the program lifecycle and support on‑orbit commissioning with the SatOps team.
• Prepare test reports, develop satellite operation manuals and deliver associated training.
• Support in‑orbit test (IOT) activities and resolve anomalies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of hands‑on experience with digital communication systems in the space domain, including LEO, MEO and GEO satellite communications.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages.
• Knowledge of phased‑array antennas, multiple modulation types, signal processing and networking.
• Systems engineering experience for space and ground segments, including flight software and satellite databases.
• Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Windchill or Jama.
