Restaurant Manager – Operations & Staff Leadership

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations at our East Indian and Hakka Chinese cuisine restaurant in Calgary. You will be responsible for maintaining profitability, ensuring high‑quality service, and leading a team of 5‑10 staff members.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and develop budgets for food, beverages, supplies, and labour costs.
• Monitor revenues, adjust menu pricing, and control expenses to meet profit targets.
• Plan, organize, and supervise daily restaurant operations, including inventory management and cash handling.
• Recruit, schedule, train, and evaluate staff performance.
• Enforce provincial liquor legislation, health and safety regulations, and operational procedures.
• Negotiate with suppliers and clients for catering and facility use.
• Participate in marketing initiatives and manage special events.
• Address customer complaints and ensure excellent service.

Required profile

• College‑level diploma or certificate (1‑2 years program).
• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in restaurant or food‑service management.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and under pressure.
• Strong supervisory skills for a team of 5‑10 employees.
