Restaurant Assistant Manager

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Restaurant Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our busy Edmonton bakery‑café. The role involves overseeing staff, ensuring high service quality, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor staff performance and provide feedback.
• Plan and organize daily restaurant operations.
• Supervise a team of 1‑2 staff members.
• Train staff on service standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies.
• Negotiate with clients for catering services or facility use.
• Address customer complaints and concerns promptly.

Required profile

• 2 to less than 3 years of experience in restaurant management.
• Ability to supervise and lead a small team (1‑2 people).
• Efficient interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Reliable and able to work independently.
• Strong teamwork orientation.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, repetitive task environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
