About the role
The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Respiratory Registrar to join the respiratory medicine team at Mayo University Hospital. This fixed‑term position starts in July 2026 and offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment delivering acute and chronic respiratory care.
Key responsibilities
Required profile
- Active registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in respiratory medicine.
- Successful completion of Part 1 of the MRCP or MRCPI examination.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Valid English language proficiency (OET or IELTS) where applicable.
- For candidates of the International Medical Graduate Training Initiative (Pakistan & Sudan), a minimum of 12 months residence in the home country after graduation.
Required skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Part 1 MRCP/MRCPI examination
- OET or IELTS English proficiency
- Active IMC registration
