Research Dietitian – Allergy Unit (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to join the Allergy research team at BC Children’s Hospital, supporting the Chan Laboratory within the Department of Paediatrics at UBC. This part‑time role (1‑2 days per week) focuses on developing nutrition‑focused tools and resources for food‑allergy patients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test and implement an algorithm to triage food‑allergy patients based on their nutritional needs.
• Conduct chart reviews of allergy clinic patients and collaborate with allergists to identify referral criteria.
• Create flowcharts and written resources (pamphlets, website links) for use by clinicians and families.
• Compile a directory of local dietitians for families attending the allergy clinic.
• Perform literature reviews on oral immunotherapy dosing regimens and develop customized dosing schedules based on taste and texture preferences.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical research standards under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.

Required profile

• Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with experience in clinical or research settings.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills for chart review and literature synthesis.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with allergists, patients and families.
• Commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality of study participants.
