Research Associate – Neuroscience Lab

About the role

The Kennedy Lab at McGill University seeks a motivated Research Associate to join a three‑month full‑time project focused on the biochemical mechanisms governing myelination and remyelination in the central nervous system.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute independent experiments investigating oligodendrocyte maturation, migration, and myelin health.
• Utilize the lysophosphatidyl choline (LPC) mouse model to study demyelination and remyelination.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, analyze data, and contribute to manuscript preparation and grant writing.
• Present findings at scientific conferences.
• Supervise a full‑time technician and mentor graduate and summer trainees.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant field (biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, etc.).
• At least one year of research experience with oligodendrocytes, myelin biology, or related areas.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
