Research Assistant – Sustainable Operations Management

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Research Assistant to support a project on sustainable operations management at McGill University. The role involves collaborating closely with the principal investigator to collect and analyse data from industry professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, pilot and administer surveys targeting purchasing, sustainability and brand managers.
• Conduct semi‑structured interviews with industry representatives.
• Recruit participants, follow up respectfully and build relationships with firms and associations.
• Maintain accurate research records and manage data confidentiality.
• Assist in preparing reports and presenting findings.

Required profile

• Current or recent graduate student in management, sustainability, economics, sociology or a related field.
• Experience with survey design, interview techniques or qualitative research methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional, confident interaction with managers and industry participants.
• Excellent organisational abilities, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently.
