About the role

The Laboratory of Neurobiology at McGill University seeks a motivated Research Assistant 2 to investigate alterations in dopamine neurons using advanced imaging and behavioural techniques. This full‑time, fixed‑term position offers the opportunity to contribute to high‑impact publications and gain hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge neuroscience methods.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experimental protocols including in vivo calcium imaging, behavioural analysis, confocal and super‑resolution microscopy, drug administration, and tissue collection.
• Develop and optimise circuit‑labelling approaches, novel behavioural paradigms, and generate transgenic mouse models.
• Quantify, analyse, and present data at lab meetings and in peer‑reviewed manuscripts.
• Maintain the mouse colony (breeding, weaning, genotyping) and provide technical training to undergraduate students.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
• English proficiency assessed at level 3 (out of 4).
