Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) – Part‑Time

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our long‑term care home on a part‑time basis. You will provide high‑quality resident care, ensure compliance with nursing standards, and support a safe, supportive environment for seniors.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver resident care in line with nursing standards, physicians’ orders, and administrative policies.
• Observe, record, and report vital signs, symptoms, and resident conditions; initiate remedial health measures when appropriate.
• Assess residents, develop, implement, review, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Monitor health status, note changes, and coordinate referrals to physicians; process and implement physician orders.
• Organize and direct care activities, including restorative and palliative care as needed.
• Interpret and apply established policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate nursing and personal‑care staff on the unit.
• Orient and train new personnel; participate in in‑service education.
• Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and refer issues to the Director of Care.

Required profile

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health‑care practices, including infection‑control practices.
• Strong human‑relation skills and a demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
• Effective communication abilities and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
