Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

About the role

RhynoCare is looking for an experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to provide compassionate care in long‑term care facilities in Orillia, Ontario. You will be engaged as an independent contractor, working flexible shifts to support resident wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, competent nursing and personal care in line with CNO standards, physician orders and resident care plans.
• Assess and respond to residents’ physical, psychological, emotional, cultural and social needs using evidence‑informed decision making.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges, ensuring clear communication with residents, families and the healthcare team.
• Manage medication administration, including narcotics, complying with legislative and organizational requirements.
• Lead and guide PSWs and other staff, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Document accurately and promptly according to College of Nurses of Ontario guidelines and respond to medical emergencies following protocols.

Required profile

• Current active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work 8‑ or 12‑hour shifts and rotate across units as needed.
• Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts in accordance with RhynoCare’s attendance policy.
